31 (D-31) A few more people and another place, The Pharmacy Museum

31 (D-31) HALFWAY: I started this blog 31 days ago and we have 31 days before we leave.
Time for a little rest!  I'll make it very short for you today!

A few other people who are associated with New Orleans.
Louis Prima...Return to the bottom of 26 (D-36).  New information was added there.
Truman Capote (1924-1984), born in New Orleans, writer.  In Cold Blood, Breakfast at Tiffany's.  Short stories too:  In December, some of my classes read A Christmas Memory and One Christmas.  One Christmas is the story of Capote as a young boy spending Christmas in New Orleans with his father. (His parents were divorced.)
Tennessee Williams (1911-1983), born in Mississippi. A  playwright.  He wrote A Streetcar Named Desire. This story about Blanche Dubois takes place in New Orleans.
Anne Rice, contemporary writer born in New Orleans, who likes writing about vampires and...voodoo!  http://annerice.com/Bookshelf-FeastSaints.html

And one of my students who has visited New Orleans told me that the Pharmacy Museum in New Orleans is very interesting.  (Thank you Michèle for this information.)
I took a look here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy5-q8wUxZU
And look here also, if you like, where you will see the portrait of someone you have already discovered on this blog: http://www.theguardian.com/travel/2015/jan/16/new-orleans-pharmacy-museum-opium-soaked-tampons-voodoo-elixirs
What do you think she bought at the pharmacy?
