5 (D-57) More nicknames

DAY 5 (D-57)  57 days before we leave.

Louisiana has many nicknames.  In addition to The Pelican State, it is also called:  The Bayou State, The Sugar State, The Child of the Mississippi, The Creole State, Sportsman's Paradise (because of its wildlife, hunting, fishing, and its many sports teams.  You see this nickname on the cars' license plates.) and also Fisherman's Paradise.


New Orleans has many nicknames too:
America's Favorite City, America's Most Interesting City, The Big Easy, Birthplace of Jazz, The Crescent City, Mardi Gras City, The City That Care Forgot, Nawlins, NOLA.
